Those looking to add new friends using the PS5 will find some features slightly different from the PS3 and PS4. This guide will show players how to add, remove, and access their friends on the PS5.
How To Add Friends On The PS5
Adding and finding friends on the PS5 is quicker than ever, thanks to the PS5’s Game Base feature.
Press the PlayStation button on the DualSense Controller. Press the X button to open the Game Base menu.
Press the Options button on the controller. To look for a player, click on the Search for Players bar.
Type in the name or nickname of the friend. Select their profile image. Now click the Add Friend tab and wait for their response.
How To Remove Friends On The PS5
Press the PlayStation button on the DualSense Controller. Press the X button to open the Game Base menu. Press the Options button on the controller. Click right on the D-Pad or L-Stick and Select the three dots on the far right.
Players will now have the option of making the friend a close friend, removing them, reporting them, or blocking them entirely.
Access Privacy Settings On The PS5
Privacy and how much information a person shares from their PS5 account is an important option to consider.
On the PS5 home screen, press up on the controller, then right to select the user’s profile image. In the dropdown menu, select Profile. Then press right to click on the Privacy Settings option.
Players can modify what they share with friends, like their real names, games, and trophy information.
The privacy settings will also allow players to choose whether or not a stranger can add them to their account, send private messages, and more. One should always consider privacy when adding someone as a friend on the PS5.
The PlayStation 5 is available now from all good retailers.
