Reddit user particiv2 shared a post on the PlayStationPlus subreddit collecting what they believe is all local multiplayer games included in the PlayStation Plus Extra game library. Particiv2 says that they’re a “big fan” of couch gaming with friends and felt the need to make a list since Sony didn’t offer it as a filter option. This way, PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can figure out a local multiplayer game to play with relative ease.

The list is broken into two different sections. One section is dedicated to sports games, since so many include local multiplayer modes, and the other section features everything else. The sports section includes games like NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, PGA Tour 2K21, and Tour de France 2021. There are also racing games including TrackMania Turbo, NASCAR Heat 5, and MX vs ATV All Out. Some oddball games are also options, like Chess Ultra. It’s a diverse range of sports games for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers to choose from.

The non-sports and racing games are all the more diverse. There are fighting games like Mortal Kombat 11, Nidhogg 2, Dead or Alive 5, and Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. Co-op-focused local multiplayer games include Trine 4, Overcooked 2, Terraria, and Human Fall Flat. Then there are also arcade-style local multiplayer games like Crash Bandicoot 4, too.

It’s a shame that Sony doesn’t offer a filter option for local multiplayer games within its PlayStation Plus Extra menus. Couch co-op and multiplayer games seem like a very clear area of its library that subscribers will be interested in. Of course, by creating this list, particiv2 is doing their part to encourage Sony to consider adding just such a filter in the future.

These games and more are currently available to those who are subscribed either to PlayStation Plus Extra or the tier above it, PlayStation Plus Premium. Once subscribed, they’re freely accessible to download and play. There’s no limit on which games from the library can be downloaded, how many can be downloaded at a time, or anything of the sort. PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers just have to know which games they want, local multiplayer or otherwise.
