On July 19, PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to the addition of 17 games across the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers, including a brand-new, day one release. Come July 19, PS Plus subscribers are free to check out day one game Stray at no additional cost beyond what they pay for their subscription. Stray, for the uninitiated, is a game where players explore a cyberpunk city as a cat. It’s been turning heads since its reveal for its unique premise and high-quality visuals, so it makes an especially exciting addition to the PS Plus Game Catalog.

Stray will be joined by a variety of other games on July 19, including Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, Marvel’s Avengers, Saints Row 4: Re-Elected, Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, Spirit of the North: Enhanced Edition, Ice Age: Scrat’s Nutty Adventure, Jumanji: The Video Game, Paw Patrol on a Roll, ReadySet Heroes, and a whopping five Assassin’s Creed games. The Assassin’s Creed games joining PS Plus on July 19 are Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered, Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry, and Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection. Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection consists of Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, so if we want to get technical, that brings the new PS Plus game additions up to 19.

All of the previously mentioned titles will be available to PS Plus Extra subscribers beginning July 19, but there will be two new additions exclusive to PS Plus Premium subscribers the same day. Many PS Plus Premium subscribers have been underwhelmed by the service’s lineup of PSP games, but July 19 will see the addition of two more PSP titles for fans to check out in the form of No Heroes Allowed and LocoRoco Midnight Carnival. There’s still a long way to go for the PS Plus Premium PSP games library, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.
It’s possible that the huge PS Plus July 19 update will be a sign of things to come, and if so, it seems PlayStation Plus subscribers have a lot of reason to be excited about when it comes to the new PS Plus subscription tiers. It’s also possible that this will be an outlier instead of the norm, but subscribers will just have to wait and see what happens.
